Join comic creator, Wallis Eates, to make a one-page comic about YOU! In this fun taster session, we will explore the various components of what a comic is, from character design and setting, through to sequencing and storytelling. This session is aimed at adults and young adults, all materials provided.
Wallis Eates is a comic creator who began self-publishing autobiographical comics and zines, and was shortlisted for the Myriad Editions First Graphic Novel Award in 2014. Since then she has worked with community groups to share stories in the graphic narrative format, which has included the publications, ‘Me-We’, after a residency with an amateur boxing group, and ‘Wings‘, in collaboration with Dr Victoria Anderson and inmates from HMP Wandsworth. She is currently working on ‘Like an Orange’ which came about after a residency with Headway, a charity that works with brain injury survivors which is due to be published through Cast Iron Books next year.
